Life Gate Power Ministry, Stadium Road, PortHarcourt, Rivers State, was the meeting point for the Solemnization of Holy Matrimony between Mr. Victor Jerry Opara and former Miss Ifunanya Ufochukwu.
Speaking at the reception in honour of the newest couple which took place at LA Kings Event Center, PortHarcourt, Rivers State on Saturday, 9th March, 2024; Engr. Dr. Innocent Akuvue, Chairman of the occasion and the MD/CEO, GGI International Nigeria Limited, disclosed that the bride and the groom happened to be his staff, before the bride (Ifunanya) resigned to meet with her parents in Lagos State.
Engr. Akuvue, who enjoined Mr. Victor & Mrs. Ifunanya Opara to put God first, endure and tolerate one another, among others as advised by the clergy during their wedding service, further admonished young men and women that are seeking for their missing ribs not to wait till they get to the age of fourty (40) years, before thinking of marriage.
The Chairman, while affirm himself as a product of early marriage by his parents, emphasised that marriage is better done early, as those in the village who do not have the required wealth, still get married and produce children that will and are doing better in the society.
On some of the challenges that are being faced by maritime stakeholders, particularly the freight forwarders in the hands of Nigeria Customs Service, the MD/CEO of GGI International Nigeria Limited, matained his position on the fact that once the proper things are done by a freight forwarder, in terms of making accurate declaration, having the necessary documents and duty paid, that the so called challenges would take care of itself, eventually.
He, in the meantime, admitted that the worst hit in the current economic situation in the country and particularly at the ports, are the shippers.
In the same vein, Prince Samuel C. Amadi, the MD/CEO, Samdis World Wide Solution Limited, a Customs licensed agent, thanked the father of the groom, Pastor Jerry Opara for ensuring the success of his son’s wedding, while urging the new couple to be ever ready to tolerate each other, as challenges would definitely come their way as time progresses.
Prince Amadi, who urged his fellow freight forwarders to be patient with the economic situation in the country, particularly on the high dollar exchange rate and Customs duty rate; further used the medium to commend Comptroller B. Imam on his record breaking revenue boost at Area II Customs Command, Onne, Rivers State and as well, described the Area Comptroller as a good man, who deserved his achievements at the Command.
Speaking in an interview, Mr. Ijeoma Leonard, the General Manager, GGI International Nigeria Limited, who made reference to the word of God that says: “He who fideth a wife findeth a good thing and obtains favour from God,” advised the new couple to put their trust in God and not the other way round.
He described marriage institution as a sccred and strong bond that requires sincerity, love, tolerance and endurance,; while urging aspiring couple(s) to always seek the face and directive from God, who is the author and finisher of their faith.
Responding on the current economic realities as it affects the clearing and forwarding business, Mr. Ijeoma recalled on some of the gains that were made by the former Vice President, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo, which include; seamless operations and ease of doing business, among others that were yet to be consolidated on by the current administration.
Responding in an interview with the Nigerian MomentumNews/Magazine, the father of the groom, Pastor Jerry Opara, the MD/CEO of Global-Eagle West Africa Limited and Chairman, Association of Nigerian Licensed Customs Agents (ANLCA), Area I chapter, PortHarcourt, Rivers State, described his first son (the groom) as “an obidient and loyal son,” who has kept his cool from childhood till date, hence the reason he did everything possible to ensure the success of his wedding.
Pastor Opara in his expertise experience, enjoined his son, Mr. Victor and his wife, Mrs. Ifunanya, to take the words of advice from their Officiating Minister, Pastor Sunny Cooley, who admonished them to put God first in their dealings, be patient in tolerating one another and endeavour to resolve their differences within themselves, among others.
The Area I chapter Chairman of ANLCA, who expressed his heartfelt gratitude to God for the successful end of the wedding ceremony, thanked all and sundry, particularly the ANLCA members, in-laws and other stakeholders for finding time to celebrate with him and his entire family, prayed God to grant them journey mercies as they return back to their various destinations.
He further prayed that celebration will never cease in their lives and families, as they came to honour his invite.
