Eastern Zone: MPEF Responds To COMJAN

JUST TO PUT THE RECORD STRAIGHT!

“This is the Coalition of Maritime Journalists Association of Nigeria. This is made possible by the agreement of top notch Maritime industry Publishers as a common front to represent, diseminate true, investigated information that can be relied upon and verifiable.COMJAN has Maritime Energy Media Practitioners of Nigeria- Mempon, Business Writers Association of Nigeria and other related Maritime King Pins.It is a strong voice of the Maritime and energy in Nigeria. The President is Ambassador Dr Ralph John, Publisher Service Magazine, Secretary is Tony Nzekwe, Members are Sir Onyema Obioha -Publisher Grass Root Magazine, Henry Onuoha News Alert and IHEJIRIKA Peter of Daily Independent.”

In a brief response to the above Facebook statement or write up in reaction to the recent Congratulatory Messages by MPEF to the CGC, CAC Babandede, Comptr. Ugbagu and to the Muslim faithful on Eid Mubarak; MPEF wish to state categorically as follows:

1. That MPEF is aware of the existence of COMJAN in the Eastern Zone.
2. That COMJAN is equally aware of the existence of MPEF in the Eastern Zone.
3. That COMJAN members’ decision to take advantage of being in the maritime industry for “2-3 Decades” and never to integrate young publishers or practitioners, does not make it the mouth piece of other practitioners.
4. That COMJAN should speak for itself and allow MPEF to concentrate on its mission and vision in the maritime industry.
5. That COMJAN should know that if the road to freedom of association and expression were closed earlier, as it is trying to do, that it wouldn’t have had the opportunity to exist as a body or association, today.
6. That COMJAN should as a matter of fact, agree with MPEF that its Exco members before now, were drawn from: The Nigerian News Direct Newspaper, Nigerian Momentum NewsOnline & Magazine, The News Angle Magazine, The Tentacle Magazine and Super FM Radio Station, among others.
7. That COMJAN and its members should use their “2-3 Decades” of experience to lead the way, so that MPEF and its members will take advantage of their wealth of experience to move the maritime industry to its expected destination.
8. That the doors of MPEF is wide open to collaborate with COMJAN in the Eastern Zone, for the good of Nigeria Customs Service, NPA, Port Users and Service Providers and the Freight Forwarders, among others.

Best regards,

Comr. Blaise Tochukwu Elumezie
Ag. Chairman, MPEF.
