The outgoing General Secretary of Ohaji/Egbema/Agwa Youth Council (Adapalm Landlord Youth), Imo State and the Publisher, Nigerian MomentumNews Online & Magazine, has purchased and returned his Nomination Form to contest for the office of the Youth President, Ohaji/Egbema/Agwa Youth Council.
The Council General Secretary, Comr. Blaise Elumezie, who purchased his Nomination Form to contest the presidential seat of the Youth Council on the 12th of November and returned it on the 13th of November, 2024 to the Eleco Chairman, Hon. Cas-Henry Ogbuka, thanked the Eleco for ensuring a transparent and peaceful 2024 electioneering process.
The ‘SSG’ as he is fondly called by Council members, however called on outgoing and incoming delegates, BoT members, leaders and other stakeholders in the business of the Youth Council to critically look into what he described as the ‘bitter truth.’
He emphasized that Agwa Zone of Ohaji/Egbema/Agwa Youth Council has 3 units, which comprised of Umuonyima Village and Umuesoigbala Village in Mgbala Agwa Autonomous Community and Umuiheoma Village in Umukpo, Uwaorie Autonomous Community, both in Oguta LGA of Imo State.
Comr. Elumezie opined that Comr. Uche Ogbonna, whom he described as his leader and the ‘Game Changer’ first emerged as the President of the Youth Council from Umuonyima Village and moved to the BoT as an automatic member, based on the provision of the Council constitution.
He further disclosed that Pastor Peter Oluwuihe from Umuesoigbala Village in the same Mgbala Agwa, after the tenure of Comr. Uche Ogbonna was elected as the Vice President of the Youth Council and later took over and completed their tenure as the Acting President of the Council, when his boss, Comr. Tommy Ekeh travelled overseas.
The Youth Council ‘SSG’ maintained that his current position as the General Secretary, is the highest position his Unit (Umuiheoma Village) in Umukpo Agwa has attained in the history and business of Ohaji/Egbema/Agwa Youth Council.
On the composition of the Youth Council Board of Trustees (BoT), Comr. Elumezie affirmed that Umuonyima Village has Comr. Uche Ogbonna and Hon. Bruno Ogbonna as BoT members, Umuesoigbala Village has one Chief Eugene “Eze Elect’ and Mr. Chinedu Echefu as BoT members.
He stated that the only nominee from his village (Umuiheoma), shortly his nomination as a BoT member became mentally unstable till date. Hence his (Blaise) election into the seat of the Youth Council President, will afford his village (Umuiheoma) the opportunity to produce a BoT member after his tenure, as stipulated in the constitution of the Youth Council, if elected.
The Secretary who said he was aware of other contestants for the seat of the president, noted that the Council business to the best of his knowledge has never been entrusted in the hands of a “JJC,” but in the hands of one that has been groomed to occupy such sensitive seat of the Council President.
Comr. Elumezie in the meantime, thanked the Eleco for ensuring that only delegates list from the authentic village Youth President will be accepted by it, during presentation of delegates list to the Zonal leaders of the Youth Council.
While thanking Comr. Uche Ogbonna for helping him have a face and voice in the business of the Youth Council, Comr. Elumezie also appreciated Comr. Engr. Nwadiogor Bosco Kingsley, whom he described as “The Empowerment Youth President” and all outgoing Exco and delegates of the Council, for the cordial relationship that exists between them.
He, in the same vein, commended Hon. Goddy Obodo, Hon. Gideon Mefor, BoT Chairman of the Youth Council, Comr. Tommy Ekeh, Hon. Vitalis Jiakponna and other critical stakeholders, for sustaining the tempo of the Youth Council.
