The Secretary to the Rivers State Government (SSG) and Co-chairman, Federation of Public Service Games (FEPSGA) Local Organizing Committee (LOC), Hon. Dr. Tammy Danagogo, has expressed his satisfaction on the level of job done at games’ designated centers in the state.
The SSG, who recognized the presence of the Chairman, Media/Publicity Subcommittee, Warisenibo Joe Johnson, in an interview with newsmen in PortHarcourt, the Rivers State capital, said that ‘the I has been doted and the T crossed,’ which are indications that the event is set to kick start tomorrow, the 28th of November, 2024.
Hon. Danagogo, who visited the four (4) designated games centers, which include: Port Harcourt Club, Sharks Stadium/Alfred Diete-Spiff Civic Centre, University of Port Harcourt and Basketball Court, Niger Street, Port Harcourt, in the course of his inspection tour, said that he may not be hundred percent satisfactory, based on one thing or the other, but maintained that the facilities already in place are more than ninety percent satisfactory.
Also speaking, Mr. Aloku Amaebi, President, Federation of Public Service Games (Simplified Rivers 2024), disclosed that over 8,000 out of the expected 10,000 athletes have arrived PortHarcourt, the Rivers State capital as at today, 27th November, 2024 while the remaining 2000 athletes are expected to arrive before the end of today.
The FEPSGA President, who spoke in line with Hon. Danagogo in the area of facilities on ground, opined that the games which include football and other sporting activities, are good to go.
