A new Executive Committee (Exco) that will pioneer the affairs of Ohaji/Egbema/Agwa Youth Council (Adapalm Landlord Youth) in the next 4 years, has been inaugurated.
Presenting his address, the Board of Trustees (BoT) Chairman of the youth council, Comr. Tommy Eke described the day’s event as an achievement in the annals of the youth council, as it transited from one administration to the other.
He appealed to the winners and losers of the council election, which was held on the 3rd of January, 2025 to accept the outcome in good faith, while thanking the Electoral Committee for conducting a free, fair and credible election.
The BoT Chairman in the meantime, lauded the outgone President of the youth council, Engr. Bosco Kingsley Nwadiogor and his Exco for their giant strides in the areas of: skill acquisition, payment of WAEC registration fees for indigent students in the 3 catchment zones of the youth council and other empowerment programmes, while the administration lasted.
The BoT Chairman however, charged the newly sworn-in Exco to endeavor to surpass the achievements of the immediate past administration, while the outgone President of the youth council, Engr. Nwadiogor Bosco Kingsley, described his administration as the most peaceful, and used the medium to appeal to those that he may have wronged in the course of his administration to forgive him.
In his address presentation, shortly after the administration of oath to the new Exco members by the Oath Officer, Hon. Justice John Awulasam, the newly inaugurated President of Ohaji/Egbema/Agwa Youth Council, Rev. Oluwuihe Peter Chimezie, thanked God for the opportunity of becoming the new Exco of the youth council.
He expressed optimism that the youth council will remain more united and focused than ever, having seen the caliber of persons that are involved in the Exco.
President Oluwuihe, who commended the BoT members for their wisdom and commitment in ensuring that the electioneering processes that led to their emergency were free and fair, despite the fight of the enemies against the election, from the inauguration of the Electoral Committee (Exco) members till the election day. He further thanked the Executive Governor of Imo State, Senator Hope Uzodinma, Hon. Prince Marcel Amadioha, the Executive Chairman, Ohaji/Egbema LGA., Hon. Ifeanyi Nnani, the Executive Chairman of Oguta LGA., and Hon. Gideon Meffor, SA to the Governor on Palm Plantations, for restoring back Adapalm Nigeria Limited to its original name from Roche Agric West Africa Limited.
While expressing his gratitude on the mutual understanding that has existed between the youth council and the management of Adapalm over the years, President Oluwuihe promised to continue on the existing cordial relationship between the management of Adapalm Nigeria Limited and the youth council.
The Council President, who described the youth election as no victor no vanquished, called for the collective ideas and support of all and sundry members to move the council to its expected destination of empowering and making life more meaningful to the youths at the end of his administration.
In his speech, the Inauguration Committee Chairman, Hon. Prince Adonis Nick, lauded Hon. Vitalis Jiakponna, the pioneer President and BoT Chairman of the youth council, for his initiatives that have sustained the youth council over the years and used the medium to appeal to the President of the youth council to as quick as possible, set a date for validator y session in honour of the retiring members of the Council BoT.
Prince Adonis Nick, who described Comr. Blaise Tochukwu Elumezie, the immediate past General Secretary of the youth council and presidential candidate in the recently concluded youth council election as “Man of the match” based on his show of sportsmanship before, during and after the election, also charged the youth council leadership to be transparent in its dealings and ensure that every council member is being carried along.
At the end of the inauguration, which took place at the residence of Hon. Vitalis Jiakponna at Amafor Ohaji on the 11th of January, 2025, the newly sworn-in Exco moved to the management of Adapalm Nigeria Limited, where they were officially introduced to Adapalm management by the Inauguration Committee Chairman, Hon. Prince Adonis Nick, the outgone President, Engr. Nwadiogor Bosco Kingsley and Comr. Tommy Eke, the BoT Chairman.
In his response, Mr. Cun Rao, the GM of Adapalm Nigeria Limited, promised to work with the new council president, the same way he worked with Engr. Nwadiogor Bosco Kingsley led administration.
While Hon. Gideon Meffor, SA to Governor Hope Uzodinma on Palm Plantations, who accepted to work with the newest president of the youth council, (Rev. Peter) as he earlier promised, advised the president and his Exco to see the protection of the plantation as priority.
He noted that the protection of the palm plantation in which ever way the council Exco may deem fit, will serve as a guarantee in getting whatever that is due to the youth council from the management of Adapalm.
Hon. Meffor, who is a pioneer member of the youth council, further disclosed the state governor’s readiness to revitalize Adapalm for the good of the state and all the landlord communities in Ohaji, Egbema and Agwa.
