SETTING THE RECORDS STRAIGHT
The Bill for the establishment of a Federal Medical Centre in Okigwe has no negative impact on the existence of the Federal Medical Centre, Annex at Izombe.
First, Establishment Bill as in the instant case, does not make the purpose automatic except such survives all legislative processes and procedures at both the House of Representatives and the Senate, including the assent of the President.
Second, assuming without conceding that the proposed Federal Medical Centre, Okigwe through the Bill of the Hon. Mirian Onuoha, becomes successful , the status of the Federal Medical Centre, Annex at Izombe will remain.
Third, the Federal Medical Centre, Owerri has so many annexes, located in Local Government Areas outside of Owerri, including Izombe in the Oguta Local Government Area. So, what is the macabre dance of shame over the status of the Federal Medical Centre, Owerri, including it’s Annex at Izombe?
Fourth, every Annex of the Federal Medical Centre, Owerri remains upon relocation or establishment(s) of a new one. This is without prejudice to the decisions of the Board of the Hospital to possibly disable or cancel such Annex.
As a free tutorial for certain deformed so-called writers without basic understanding of the business of a Legislative House, what the Bill of the Hon. Onuoha seeks to achieve is the replication of the Federal Medical Centre in locations in Imo State outside of Owerri, especially in her Federal Constituency. The Bill under review does not and cannot destroy the existing Federal Medical Centre, Owerri with it’s annexes, including that of Izombe.
Conclusively, the status of the Federal Medical Centre, Annex at Izombe has not been destroyed, and cannot be disabled because a Member of the House of Representatives proposed a Bill for the establishment of a Federal Medical Centre in Okigwe .
Shamefully, those who attempt to re-write history seems to hide the threats posed to the Federal Medical Centre Annex at Izombe following the orgy incidences of insecurity within Izombe and the neighbouring communities. Wisdom is profitable to guide therefore!!!
It is suggested that in 2025, people should be encouraged to promote peaceful co-existence and mutual respect without advertising ignorance or outright emptiness for pedestrian accolades or street validation.
