The decoration of newly promoted officers of the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS), Onne Area II Command by the CAC, Mr. Mohammed Babandede got to a halt, when CSC Benjamin Lomba, the CPRO of the Command announced the arrival of a new CPRO to take over the office of the PRO from him.

An already charged environment with joy from the newly promoted officers, colleagues, relations, friends and well wishers, suddenly became cold, when CSC Lomba officially announced his transfer from the Command to another Command.

It was indeed, a moment of calmness, as the environment was fully enveloped with emotional tears, prompting the outgoing PRO to cut short his speech at the ceremony.

In his speech, CSC Benjamin Lomba lauded his boss and the Customs Area Comptroller (CAC) of Onne Area II Command, Mr. Mohammed Babandede for his fatherly role and mentorship to all and sundry officers of the Command.
According to CSC Lomba, those whose names are synonymous with “Baba” are exceptional fathers, adding that the moments and things he learned from Comptr. Babandede will remain indelible in his life.

He, in the meantime, thanked all and sundry officers and friends for their support, and as well, pleaded with those whom he may have offended in the course of his service as the Command PRO to forgive him.
Mr. Lomba further used the medium to appeal to all and sundry officers of the Command never to hesitate in extending their hands of assistance to him, at any point in time.
Highlight of the hand over was a short parade exhibited by the outgoing PRO, CSC Benjamin Lomba and the incoming PRO, CSC TP Duniya, and the presentation of an Award of Excellence to Mr. Benjamin Lomba by a body of Independent Media Practitioners, shortly after the ceremony.
