The Member representing the good people of Ohaji/Egbema, Oguta and Oru West Federal Constituency at the Federal House of Representatives, Hon.Eugene Okechukwu Dibiagwu, has condemned in strong terms, the successive news of unwarranted herdsmen attacks on innocent indegenes of Agwa, in Oguta LGA, Imo State.

The Federal House Member, who described life as “sacred” in the eyes of God, which deserves its sanctity, stated that on no account whatsoever, should anybody or group of people take life unwholesomely.
Hon. Dibiagwu, who frowned at the ugly attacks on indegenes of Umuekpu Agwa and road users along Ejemekwuru-Agwa-Egbema road on the 4th of June, 2025, by suspected herdsmen, totally condemned the act, describing it as barbaric and regrettable.
According to the House Committee Chairman on Regional Development: “I condemn in clear terms, these incessant attacks on my innocent Constituents, who are predominantly farmers. The attacks inhibit the free flow of life and hamper food production, and other important economic activities in my Constituency.
“I have been proactive in ensuring cohabitation of all in my Constituency, and have been advocating for tolerance, not minding ethnicity or tribe. It is expedient to live as one indivisible Nigeria, anywhere, without interjecting on peoples rights and way of living.
“Before now, my Constituent has been peaceful and the ease of doing business has remained unhindered. It is disturbing to hear and see these act now,” Hon. Dibiagwu lamented.
He, in the meantime, called on residents to be cautious of their environment and report suspected act that are capable of causing crisis to the police and other security agencies.
Stating further, the law maker said: “I want to assure my Constituents that measures to curb this menace have been initiated headlong. I have switched into due actions that will lawfully take care of the disturbing situation. As we all know, I have never relented on matters of this height.
“I sympathize with the families that lost property and their loved ones in the act. While ensuring that justice prevails for the lost souls. I pray for them to rest in peace. I shall equally ensure that the needed succour and comfort will get to the concerned families,” Hon. Dibiagwu assured.
