The recent Association of Nigerian Licensed Customs Agents (ANLCA) Zonal Stakeholders meeting may have come and gone, but the issues deliberated on, by stakeholders will help to champion the course of the association in the coming months.
Speaking in an interview with Nigerian MomentumNews Online & Magazine, the Eastern Zonal Coordinator of ANLCA, Mr. Joshua Ahuama, described the meeting as an enlarged quarterly executive meeting of the Eastern Zone that provides stakeholders the opportunity to brainstorm on its activities in the year past, and to proffer solutions on areas of challenges, and the way forward.
He further added that such meeting could be called for, at any point in time, if the need arises within the Zonal level.
On his response to the administrative performance of the National President of ANLCA, Mr. Emenike Kingsley Nwokeoji in the last one year, Mr. Ahuama opined that the National President has done a lot, especially in the unification of all and sundry members of the association across the board.
He was emphatic on the recent training tour of the association members to Dakar, Senegal, where members had the opportunity to interact with their counterparts in the country.
The Zonal Coordinator disclosed that the essence of the trip initiated by the National President was to equip members with the current realities in the clearing and forwarding business.
Responding to the policies of the government with respect to their business with the Nigeria Customs Service, especially on the recently introduced B’Odogwu system; Mr. Ahuama emphasized that the B’Odogwu system may not be at its best for now, but optimistic that the system will perform optimally as time progresses.
The meeting was attended by ANLCA Eastern Zonal Executive, chapter chairmen and other stakeholders in the freight forwarding business.
