How Sir Prominence Ezeoha Is Changing The Narrative And Consolidating On The Fortunes Of Imo Freight Forwarders Association

The emergence of Sir Prominence Ezeoha in the last one year, as the President of Imo Freight Forwarders Association of Nigeria in PortHarcourt, the Rivers State capital, was welcomed by all and sundry members as a right step in the right direction.

His emergence, was made possible by the effort and support of his predecessor, Chief Tony Uche, who alongside the Board of Trustees (BoT) of the association, ensured the registration of the association with the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC), Abuja and the availability of a duly acceptable constitution, for the effective running of the association.

Having known some of the challenges of the immediate past administration as a Vice President, Sir Prominence Ezeoha, shortly after assumption of office as the President, embarked on membership drive.

A move he felt, if successful, would help to improve the revenue generation of the association and thereby, assist it to meet up with some of its obligations to members, among others.

While the membership drive was ongoing, the leadership of Sir Prominence Ezeoha, quickly went into addressing the daunting challenge of unpaid rights/benefits of deserving members in the last administration. An action that has been lauded by all and sundry members, particularly, the beneficiaries.

Taking cognizance of the fact that “health is wealth,” the Exco of the association, simultaneously engaged the services of a medical outfit and an insurance company, for the health and benefit of members.

While the medical team has continued in its mandate of lecturing members on health matters, as well as carrying out various tests on members, as led by the team doctor; the insurance company on its own, has enrolled interested members of the association into its insurance scheme, as agreed by the association.

Despite the aforementioned initiatives by the leadership of Sir Prominence Ezeoha, the association has made it a point of duty, by continuously reaching out and assisting its members with health and other financial challenges.

On assumption of office, Sir Prominence Ezeoha made a policy statement of ensuring that Imo Freight Forwarders Association, acquires a landed property of its own, under his administration.

Today, that promise made, has been kept, as the leadership of the association, alongside the BoT, have successfully acquired a Three (3) and One quarter (1/4) Fenced Plots of Land, in the City of PortHarcourt.

This landmark achievement by the association, under the leadership of Sir Prominence Ezeoha, was made known to association members during its monthly meeting at People’s Club, Rumuola, on Saturday, 11th October, 2025 and the Deed of Convenience of the property, officially presented to the house, by its President, Sir Prominence Ezeoha.

Recall that the association, shortly after its recent courtesy visit to Mr. Chidera Oganuzor, MD/CEO, Odest Global Resources Limited (Operators of Odest Bonded Terminal), thanked him and the MD/CEO of Nelly Val Limited, among others, for their huge financial supports to the actualisation of the said project.

With the evident zeal exhibited by the Exco, BoT and the entire members of Imo Freight Forwarders Association of Nigeria, under the leadership of Sir Prominence Ezeoha; it is expected that in no distant time, maritime stakeholders, among others, would be called upon, for the foundation laying ceremony of a befitting Secretariat/hall of the association.
