The 15th of February, 2026 was indeed, a moment of honour, as all stars football clubs converged to honour one of their own.
Mr. Chidiegwu Obi
The novelty football matches that were played between Stallion Football Club, St. Francis Catholic Men Organization (CMO) Football Club, 24 Football Club, and Famous Football Club, were played in honour of Mr. Chidiegwu Obi, the Team Manager of Stallion FC, to mark his birthday celebration.
The novelty football matches took place at the Stallion FC Field at NTA premises in PortHarcourt, the Rivers State capital.
Speaking shortly after the end of the novelty football matches, the Chairman of Stallion Football Club, Pharmacist Onyebuchi Okoronkwo expressed his gratitude to God for the life of Mr. Chidiegwu Obi, whom he said is the Team Manager of their club, the Stallion Football Club.
The club chairman equally commended the celebrant for his decision to celebrate his birthday with fellow footballers, family, friends and businesses associates, among others.
Pharmacist Okoronkwo in the meantime, presented a birthday gift to Mr. Chidiegwu Obi, on behalf of the Stallion FC and as well, invited Mr. Chidi Obi, whom the club inducted at the event as a team member.
Speaking after his induction, Mr. Chidi Obi thanked members of Stallion FC for their show of love to the celebrant, who according him, is his blood brother. He accepted his membership of the club and as well, made a pledge to support the club.
Speaking in an interview with Nigerian MomentumNews Online & Magazine, the celebrant, Mr. Chidiegwu Obi, the MD/CEO, BasVic Oil Filled Services Limited, thanked God for his life, providence, and the opportunity to do some of the things he has been doing in the society.
The celebrant further enumerated on some of his philanthropic gestures which include: provision of health care services, and empowerment programmes for the less privileged in the society, among others.
High points of the event include: cutting of birthday cake by the celebrant alongside his wife, club members, friends and well wishers and presentation of a gift item to the celebrant by Budweiser drink representative at the event.
