The Exco, BoT and all members of Imo Freight Forwarders Association of.Niigeria (IFFAN), Rivers State branch, have ended its 2023 year activities with praises to Almighty God..
In his brief speech at the event, which took place at People’s Club hall on the 16th of December, 2023 in PortHarcourt, the Rivers State capital, Sir Prominence Ezeoha, the National President of Imo Freight Forwarders Association of Nigera (IFFAN), said that the purpose of the event was to merry together and sing praises to Almighty God for the life of every member and stability of the association.
Sir Ezeoha, while thanking members for honouring the invitation with their respective families, as well as friends, pointed out that his administration is only consolidating on the procedure and achievements of the immediate past administration of Chief Tony Uche, to see how the association can be moved to its expected destination.
Speaking in an interview, Chief Ambrose Agomuo, a BoT member of IFFAN, expressed his heartfelt gratitude on the success of the end of year activities of the association, which he attributed to the collective efforts of members, particularly to the new Exco of IFFAN led by Sir Prominence Ezeoha.
On the challenges that are being faced by freight forwarders at the ports, Chief Agomuo who said he started the freight forwarding business since 1983, noted that no matter the level of challenges before the freight forwarders, that there must always be a way out of such challenges.
Chief Agomuo, who disclosed on how he led a delegation to former Comptroller General of Customs, CG Kamba that led to the formation of Association of Nigera Licensed Customs Agents (ANLCA) and its chapters.
He, in the meantime, lauded late Hon. Ossy Prestige Ossy, for recognizing his (Chief Agomuo) expertise experience and contributions in ANLCA, while alive and further used the medium to call on the new NECOM team of ANLCA, to learn to 
recognize and appreciate the founding fathers of the association, pointing out that some of the former and current members that have and are managing the affairs of ANLCA, were in different fields when he founded ANLCA.
While appreciating Mr. Adewale Bashir Adeniyi on his appointment as the Comptroller-General of Customs (CGC) and the recent inauguration of Mr. Emenike Kingsley Nwokeoji as the National President of ANLCA, Chief Agomuo called on the CG to look inwards to the extortions that are taking place at the ports.
Responding, Chief Hyginus Oluigbo, another BoT member of the association, thanked the new Exco of IFFAN for a successful end of the year get together of the association members, friends and families.
He was optimistic that the current Exco led by Sir Prominence Ezeoha, will definitely take IFFAN to greater heights.
Chief Oluigbo, who expressed satisfaction with the level of turnout at the event despite several engagements that are associated with the month of December, stated that the issue of membership drive in the association will be a task for all and sundry members of the association.
He also used the occasion to call on members of IFFAN, friends and well wishers to be his guests on the wedding day of his daughter, which comes up on the 30th of December, 2023 in Owerri, the Imo State capital.
Other BoT members, which include: Hon. P.O Asiegbu, Chief K. C Okoro, Mr. Chris Obi, the BoT Secretary, Mr. Cyril Nkemakolam and Chief Tony Uche, thanked the new Exco and members of IFFAN for their show of commitment and love towards the association.
