One Year Of Impactful Leadership: MPEF Congratulates CG Adeniyi

The Exco and members of Maritime Publishers & Editors Forum (MPEF), have congratulated the Comptroller General of Nigeria Customs Service, Mr. Bashir Adewale Adeniyi on his one year of impactful endeavours as the CG.

Speaking on the achievements of CG Bashir Adewale Adeniyi in the last one year as Customs CG, Comr. Blaise Tochukwu Elumezie, the Acting Chairman of MPEF, commended the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, for appointing Mr. Adeniyi, a career Customs officer as Comptroller General.

The Ag. Chairman who spoke with newsmen in PortHarcourt, the Rivers State capital on the one year anniversary, enumerated on some of the achievements of CG Adeniyi, which include but not limited to: visiting families of late Customs officers and former Comptrollers General of Nigeria Customs Service.

Others include: disbanding of the Special Taskforce, visit to relevant government agencies and parastatals, traditional rulers and maritime stakeholders, among others.

Comr. Elumezie in the meantime, lauded Mr. Adeniyi for being a listing Comptroller General, especially in his ability to handle the issue of multiple alerts on a single cargo by the Customs Service, as raised by freight forwarders, among others.

According to him: “I am optimistic that CG Adeniyi will not disappoint his people (Customs officers), as well as the freight forwarders, because the appointment of a career Customs officer to pioneer its affairs, has been the expectations of the Customs officers, freight forwarders and other maritime stakeholders.

“For us at MPEF, we see this moment as the best time to express our heartfelt gratitude to CG Adeniyi on his giant strides in managing the affairs of Nigeria Customs Service in the last one year.

“We will continue to do our best as maritime media practitioners, through verifiable and accurate reportage on the activities of the Nigeria Customs Service under the watch of CG Adeniyi,” Comr. Elumezie stated.
