A member, representing Imo State at the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC), Hon. Kyrian Uchegbu, has been receiving backlash from all and sundry in his Umuorji Village, Aborshi Autonomous Community, Izombe, Imo State, over his uncultured manner to his siblings and giving a slap to a Catholic Reverend Father, who happened to be his brother, Rev. Fr. Sunny Uchegbu.

Reports had it that Engr. Chief Ifeanyi Uchegbu, whose official chieftaincy coronation was to take place on the 7th of January, 2025 in their family house, after the death of his in the last two years, came to an abrupt end as a result of an alleged hired tugs and policemen attached to Hon. Kyrian Uchegbu that invaded the coronation venue and got so many innocent guests and siblings to the celebrant, wounded.
It was alleged that Hon. Kyrian Uchegbu personally slapped his brother, Rev. Fr. Sunny Uchegbu, who is a Catholic priest that came to be part of the coronation ceremony and allegedly ordered his tugs to destroy his car.
The reports, further alleged that the Catholic priest got the beaten of his life, when he was first denied access to drive into their family house, and then decide to abandon his car and walk into his father’s compound.
It was further alleged that despite the efforts made by police officers and men of the Nigerian Army, who came to stop the over 100 tugs and policemen attached to Hon. Kyrian Uchegbu, that the tugs later laid ambush against the innocent guests that came to be part of the event, thereby, causing more harm and injury to them.
Speaking on her ordeal, Lady Virginia Uchegbu, who is the foster mother to Hon. Kyrian Uchegbu, after the demise of his parents, said that the appointment of Hon. Kyrian Uchegbu, ought to have been a blessing to his siblings than that of harassment and intimidation.
Lady Virginia Uchegbu, who wondered how Hon. Kyrian could have stop his elder brother, Engr. Ifeanyi Uchegbu from being coronated as a Chief in their family, having been a regent on the stool in the last two years, if not for his appointment in NDDC.
The foster mother, who regretted nursing Hon. Kyrian Uchegbu and his other sibling from their tender age, wondered when the image of the family, which has been known as one of the most peaceful families in Izombe, would be restored, as already being denigrated by the self centered life style of Hon. Kyrian Uchegbu.
