UCHENNA EDWIN NDUFOR hailed from the Ndufor family of Umuewenike kindred, Umudimewuzie in Umunwarahu of Obodoukwu, Ideato North Local Government Area of Imo State Nigeria.
He was born on Nkwo market day being Sunday, on the 1st day of November, 1970. His parents are Chief Ezinna Christian Ndufor and Ezinne Celine Ndufor (Nee Uzoma), who are in great turmoil burying their illustrious son.
Uchenna attended Central School 3 Obodoukwu for his Primary School, from the abode of Chief Sir Nnaemeka Vincent Ejieji and Lady Regina Ejieji (Nee Uzoma), the parents of Chief Pharm. Anthony Chiedozie Ejieji (Ikenga Ekuliaka, Nwabunnia).
Ezinne Celine Ndufor is a junior sister to Lady Regina Ejieji, both are married to gentlemen of Obodoukwu. It was the decision of his mother that Uchenna stayed with the family of her elder sister, Lady Regina Ejieji during his formative years in Obodoukwu.
That decision definitely helped to shape his perception and direction in life; he drew close to the Ejieji family of Ekuliaka, Obodoukwu and in particular, Chief Pharm. Anthony Chiedozie Ejieji, whom he took as his senior brother and mentor, early in his life and who also took him to Abuja.
In the year 1984, upon the completion of his primary school, he proceeded to Secondary Technical School, Obodoukwu (a.k.a Oboro) for his Secondary Education. Majority of his contemporaries at ‘Oboro’ are the prominent members of the OFUOBI AGE GRADE OF OBODOUKWU.
Uchenna graduated with flying colours in the WAEC examination and subsequently, he applied and was admitted to study Marketing at the Federal Polytechnic Oko, Orumba North Local Government Area of Anambra State in the year, 1992 and got his OND in the year, 1994 and went for his one year Industrial Training (IT) in the year, 1995 at Chief Pharm. Anthony Chiedozie Ejieji place in Lagos State.
Uchenna started his HND in the year, 1996 and graduated from the Federal Polytechnic Oko in the year, 1997. In the year,1998, he was called up to do his mandatory National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) and he served at the defunct Nigeria Electricity Power Authority (NEPA) in Abuja, now Abuja Electricity Distribution Company (AEDC).
Upon passing out from the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) in the year,1999 having garnered exposure and experience during his NYSC service year at NEPA, he started off as a contractor with the help and guidance of Mr.Ikechukwu Benneth Onyejekwe, popularly known as IKB (PAJIMO). Mr.Ikechukwu Benneth Onyejekwe also provided the initial capital for the first contract work done by Uchenna (U-Nex Link Computers).
Uchenna later established a business with shops at Wuse Market, Abuja where he majored in Computer accessories and stationeries. And his office was at De Avalon Plaza Utako, Abuja were his other companies like Across Boarders Nigeria Ltd., De-Vine Construction Services Ltd, Great Planners Mega Capital Ltd., Hano Business Concerns Ltd., Golden Point Integrated Services Ltd., Lily of the Valley Corporate Concerns Ltd., Neoflex Heritage Ltd., Queen of Angels Investment System Ltd., Sleekhills Nigeria Ltd., Somchi Mega Solution Ltd., Exprezo Development Services Ltd., El-Elyon Interbiz & Logistics Ltd. and Hi-Issues Services Ltd., were used in contract works and businesses. And other successful investments he established to the glory of God.
It was at Federal Polytechnic Oko that he met his heartthrob, Miss Ukamaka Vivian Iroh, whom he got married to in the year, 2005. His wife hails from the family of Ezinna & Ezinne Alphonsus Iroh of Itu, Ezinihitte Mbaise Local Government Area of Imo State.
Their marriage is blessed with five (5) lovely children (2boys and 3 girls), namely; Chinemerem Vincent Ndufor (First son), Chiemela Vivien Ndufor (First daughter), Chimamanda Christabel Ndufor (Second daughter), Chikamso Frances Ndufor (Third daughter) and Chizitere Victor Ndufor (Second son). He has been awarded with uncountable merit awards stemming majorly from his philanthropic gestures.
Upon his diagnosis of Leukemia in August, 2023, he did not allow the terminal ailment to stop him from continuing his works and businesses. He commenced treatment at Nizamiye Hospital, Abuja, before he travelled to India on 18th January, 2024 for further treatment with the help and assistance of Chief Pharm.Chiedozie Anthony Ejieji. In his sojourn for better health management at India, he lived with Mr.Ndubueze Udeze.On his return to Nigeria on 28th, March, 2024 as his ailment was considered terminal in India, he relentlessly continued his treatment in Nigeria shuttling between Abuja, Owerri and Obodoukwu.
Uchenna had a relapse in the early hours of Sunday, February 2nd, 2025 and was rushed to the Humility Specialist Hospital, Owerri. He died in the morning hours of Tuesday, February 4th, 2025 despite all the medical attention that was afforded him in his twilight days.
Uchenna was a great philanthropist, a born leader, a goalgetter, a pacesetter and a source of motivation. It is not unusual that he found himself in leadership positions professionally, and, socially in few organizations he was a member of.
His passage unto glory has left a huge void in the hearts of everyone, who came in contact with him in one way or the other, but the Lord comforts us daily with the thought that he lived an exemplary life worthy of emulation.
Ikukuoma’s spirit will always be with us.
