NAGAFF Election: Fowdr. Anselem Emerges Onne Seaport Chapter Chairman ..As Comr. Uzohuo, Uzoanya, Laud Founding Father

The Acting Chairman of National Association of Government Approved Freight Forwarders (NAGAFF) Electoral Commission (NECOM), Fowdr. Justice Okey Uzoanya, has described the outcome of Onne Seaport chapter of NAGAFF election, held on the 5th of July, 2025 at the Golden Tulip Hotel, PortHarcourt, the Rivers State capital, as peaceful, transparent and credible.

Forwarder Uzoanya, who lauded the Founding Father of NAGAFF, Chief Boniface Aniebonam, for ensuring a peaceful and united association, despite the challenges that led to the cancellation of the previously held election, urged the newly elected Chairman, Hon. Forwarder Ike Okechukwu Anselem to ensure government of national unity, among members.

Speaking in an interview with Nigerian MomentumNews Online & Magazine, the National Vice President of NAGAFF, Eastern Zone, Comrade Ngozi Uzohuo, described the outcome of the election as the best in the history of NAGAFF, hence the reason it was named government of national unity.

He used the medium to applaud the Founder of NAGAFF, Chief Boniface Aniebonam for his fatherly intervention that led to the peaceful and harmonious election that brought about the emergence of Twelve (12) elected officers of Onne Seaport chapter.

The Eastern Zone National Vice President, also used the medium to call on the newly elected Chairman, Hon. Forwarder Ike Okechukwu Anselem, to ensure that members are carried along in the course of his administration.

In the same vein, the newly elected Chairman of NAGAFF, Onne Seaport chapter, Hon. Forwarder Ike Okechukwu Anselem, thanked the NECOM team of NAGAFF, for their wisdom to reschedule and conduct a free, fair and transparent election, for Onne Seaport chapter, despite the fact that the election was initially suspended by the national body, for the good of all and sundry members.

He further thanked the Founder of NAGAFF, Chief Boniface Aniebonam for setting up a maritime academy over the years, to help equip the would be freight forwarders, among others in their business with the Nigeria Customs Service.

The chapter Chairman, further pledged to work in tandem with the vision of NAGAFF’s founding father, as well as to continue to work in harmony with the Nigeria Customs Service and other sister agencies operating at Onne Seaport.

He promised to continue to give quality leadership to all and sundry members of NAGAFF, now that he has their elective mandate, having served earlier as an interim chairman of the chapter, among others.

Responding, Chief Forwarder Hilary Chijioke, the newly elected Treasurer of NAGAFF, Onne Seaport chapter, promised to use his wealth of experience in the affairs of the association, having served it at Enugu chapter, before relocating to Onne chapter, to move the association to its expected destination.

Chief Chijioke further assured of sharing his administrative prowess with the chapter Chairman, as well as other Exco members, for the good of all members of NAGAFF, Onne Seaport chapter.
