The Managing Director/ Chief Executive Officer of Godify Towers Nigeria Limited and the Chairman, Association of Nigerian Licensed Customs Agents (ANLCA), Onne Seaport chapter, Rivers State, has received the team of Nigerian Economic Growth Forum (NEGF) on courtesy visit in his office in PortHarcourt, the Rivers State capital.
Speaking at the visit, the leader of NEGF team, Hon. Olamilekan Adisa, opined that the essence of the visit was to commend and appreciate Chief Ifeanyi Isikaku (Onwa), for his numerous contributions to the economic growth and robust revenue generation to the federal government of Nigeria, through the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) in Onne Area II Command.
Hon. Adisa, who used the medium of the visit to present a certificate of appreciation to Chief Isikaku, stated that the presentation was in “Recognition Of His Outstanding And Exceptional Service To Import & Export Operations In Nigeria.”
Responding, Chief Ifeanyi Isikaku (Onwa) thanked the Nigerian Economic Growth Forum (NEGF) team for finding him worthy of their appreciation, and used the medium to laud the Comptroller-General of Customs, Bashir Adewale Adeniyi MFR, on his various initiatives that have brought the Nigeria Customs Service to its present standing.
He equally commended the Comptroller-General on the current CGC Conference holding in Abuja, the Federal Capital Territory, describing it as an avenue for the CG to brainstorm with his various lieutenants on how best to move the Service to its expected destination, and wished him a successful conference.
On the proposed E-callup System at Onne Seaport by the Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA), Chief Isikaku described it as a federal government initiative that his association, Nigerian Licensed Customs Agents (ANLCA), Onne Seaport chapter has aligned with, and optimistic that some of the challenges that may be experienced in the course of the project, will be addressed by government, as time progresses.
On the choice of an importer from the Eastern Zone to use Lagos ports against Onne Seaport, based on freight differential; Chief Isikaku maintained that Onne Seaport remained the cheap and best options for the importer, pointing out that freight logistics from Lagos State, bad roads, delivery time and other challenges put together, makes Onne Seaport a better option for importers, any time, any day.
On his achievements since assumption of office as the Chairman, ANLCA, Onne Seaport chapter; Chief Isikaku opined that his administration in the last Eight months (8) has been able to provide Two (2) Mini-buses for members’ ease of transportation at Onne Seaport, provided various welfare packages for members and currently carried out a ground breaking activity for the building of ANLCA Guest House at Onne, Rivers State, which official foundation laying ceremony will soon be performed by the National President of ANLCA, Mr. Emenike Kingsley Nwokeoji.
